WCM Study

We support the Weill Cornell Medicine Study, led by Dr. Lauren Groner in New York, which aims to build a community network of individuals who may be eligible for lung cancer screening through the utilization of contact cards at community outreach events.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Black women age 50-80

  • Any history of smoking

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Prior diagnosis of lung cancer

  • Medical contraindications to CT imaging

A Study of Lung Cancer Screening in People With Unexplained Weight Loss

Location: New York City, NY, and NJ

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age 50–80

  • >20 pack-year smoking history

  • Unintentional weight loss of 3–10% within the past 12 months

  • No restriction on the number of years since quitting smoking

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Prior diagnosis of lung cancer

  • Medical contraindications to CT imaging

  • Broad eligibility, including individuals with environmental, genetic, or lifestyle risk factors

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Active cancer diagnosis requiring immediate treatment

  • Individuals unable to undergo screening procedures

  • Age 40–49

  • At least one high-risk factor for lung cancer

Exclusion Criteria:

  • History of lung cancer

  • Inability to undergo study procedures
